After 110 years of the Davis Cup the future has been put into doubt after the player council consisting of Novak Djokovic,Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer and a few others. The proposal is to scrap the Davis Cup event and replace it with a similar event called the "World Cup" which they want to take every two years. The proposed event is a 32 team format, lasting over 10 days. The main reason behind this proposal is that the players want to redcue their playing schedules. The proposal will be spoken at greater lengths during the Australian Open which starts next monday.
